Rylin has been doing much better at holding up his head and controlling the "bobble head" motion. He is actually liking his tummy time more and more now that he can look around.
Gramps and Grammie bought him a Bumbo and we decided it was time for him to try it out. He sat like he was relaxed...
His feet were quite another story. He kept flailing his toes like he was trying to grasp something with them. Too funny!

3 Months Old
Today Rylin is 3 months old! He now weighs 15 lbs 2 oz and is 25 inches long. Still at the top of the chart for his age in weight and still eating healthy (organic in fact). He now does a lot more "talking", can roll from back to front, smiles when he wants to, and has figured out how to gnaw on his hands. He has also started sleeping without being swaddled...and instead curls up on his side. He is averaging 10-12 hours at night, which is UNBELIEVABLE! (Lets see how long this lasts!)
Aren't those cheeks irresistible?!

Good Times with Friends
Rylin had his first play date this week. Let's face it, at this age, it was really more of a Mommy play date. None the less, he made some new friends on the play mat. We are blessed to have so many friends with babies around the same age. I foresee many more play dates to come.
Today we had our small group from church over to watch the Cowboy's playoff game. Although we didn't win, we still had a good time. Once again, Rylin got to hang out with some of his friends too.

New Toys
My in-laws were nice enough to plan a shower for us this past weekend to help us with some things Rylin will need in the next few months. He got all kinds of useful things like a walker, high chair, and booster seat to name a few. He also got some cute clothes, books, and toys.
These days he enjoys laying on his back and taking in his surroundings, so he loved the play mat his MiMi and Papa gave him.

And we all knew it was only a matter of time before Duke had to try it out...this is how I found him.

All dressed up...
The winter blast apparently hit us today...or so I saw on the news. Rylin and I have been indoors most of the week, so I have been a little oblivious to what is going on with the weather. However, all the talk by the weathermen got me thinking today.
Have you ever had that outfit you just loved, but that you didn't get to wear much because it wasn't "climate appropriate"? Well, Rylin got the cutest little snow pouch for Christmas from Jordan's Aunt and Uncle, Rick and Barbara. I was trying to figure out a good excuse to put him in it. You know, like..."Jordan, we really need to take a trip to Colorado to go skiing" or "I think it's about time that we took a vacation to New York". Yeah, Jordan didn't go for any of my ideas, so instead, Rylin and I just got all dressed up to make the 20 yard trek to the mailbox.
He was excited as I was!
