5 Months Old

Miles turned five months this last week!  He's growing so much and changing every day.  He's rolling everywhere, loves his exersaucer, and still laughs and smiles all the time.  He likes to be worn on my back in my mei tai carrier and I feel like I lug him around everywhere!  He is grabbing at anything that gets close, including toys, glasses, and his brother's hair.  He's super sweet, though!

Halloween

We had several opportunities to dress up in October.  First, our church hosted it's annual Trunk or Treat on the 23rd.  Rylin was "Option Five" known to everyone else as the Transformer Optimus Prime.  I hadn't finished Miles Halloween costume yet, but luckily we had this robot outfit on hand.

Then on the 31st Rylin's preschool had a storybook parade.  He decided he wanted to be a pirate (which we had a costume for in his dress up clothes) so I had to then find a book with pirates in it.  He chose Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

The kids came marching through the church atrium and then stopped and sang a few songs.

On Halloween night we went Trick or Treating for the first time in our neighborhood.  Usually we would be in West, but the street we frequent doesn't have any houses because of the explosion.  It turned out to be great weather and Rylin had a lot of fun.  He definitely got the concept of knocking, saying "trick or treat" and then "thank you" better than last year.  Miles slept in the stroller and Duke ended up being the hit of the night...even without a costume!

4 Years Old!

I can hardly believe it's been four years since we brought our sweet little boy home!  He is full of energy and keeps us smiling...which is a good thing because he can be a total stinker too!  He is smart and silly and I love seeing his little personality grow.  This years interview was much easier.

He still loves his bulldog, Duke.  In fact, I'm usually telling him to leave Duke alone.  Though Duke is quite patient and probably just enjoys the little attention he gets these days!

We may have him on a paleo diet, but this kid would lead you to believe that all he likes is candy, pizza, chocolate, and french fries!

He's gotten really good at riding his bike and I think it won't be long before he ditches the training wheels!

He's a great big brother and likes to love on his "best little brother".  He's great at giving him his paci, making him laugh, and scaring him too!

He LOVES both sets of grandparents and visiting them at their houses.  He recently discovered fishing and go carts at Mimi and Papa's.

His favorite activity by far is cooking!  I love this!  He is great with helping me and Jordan and his kitchen is still one of his most played with toys.

He always wants us to scratch his back!  He loves it when you comb his hair, clean his ears, and rub his feet too!

Rylin's 4th Birthday Party

Our big guy turned four last week and I have a whole post for him, but a few weekends ago we celebrated his birthday with a party in the park.  He has been all about going camping (though he's still not been) and since I've been working on a camping themed nursery for Miles, I had a lot of inspiration:)

The Trail Mix bar was a hit with the kids and parents! 

I baked a chocolate cake (Rylin's favorite) and Smore's cupcakes.

The menu included Paleo Pretzel dogs, Veggies, and Fruit and Cheese skewers.

We set up a tent for the kids to play in and it was as much entertainment as the playground near by.

Other activies included a nature scavenger hunt, camping themed iSpy, and camping coloring pages.

4 Months Old

Miles is four months old!  He now weighs 17lbs and is 25 3/4"long (80%).  He's a big bundle of love; happy most of the time!  He now rolls onto his stomach as soon as you lay him down and has rolled back to his back a few times.  He grabs everything in front of him and has recently found his voice!  He loves to squeal at the top of his lungs.  I hope it's only temporary!  He is definitely a momma's boy and likes to be with me ALL THE TIME!  I wear him in my Moby wrap or Mei Tai when we go out because he is NOT a fan of his carseat.  He IS a fan of the camera though!
