7 Months Old

Miles is seven months old today!  He's such a sweet little man and loves to give out smiles.  He's up on all fours rocking...getting so close to taking off.  He says MaMa & DaDa.  He loves his jumper and exersaucer but really just wants to be held!  We're getting good at the back wrap and he often helps me with dinner.  He LOVES taking a bath and splashing water in his face, he likes to be outside and enjoys walks in the stroller.  He has started eating some soft foods like sweet potatoes, bananas, avocados, and anything else I can mush up from our dinner.  I'm taking a more laid back approach to feeding him and not doing any purees.  So far he's taken to it well.  He's working on teeth, but none have poked through yet.  He's a good nurser and still wakes a few times at night.  He naps four times a day for short little spurts.  He's a chunk!  I'm sure he's pushing 20lbs!

Christmas Day 2013

I realize that I blogged about the end of our year, but left off most of our Christmas week activities.  We spent Christmas eve and Christmas morning at our house and then headed to my in-laws for Christmas lunch in Greenville with the Everhart family and dinner in Arlington with the Alexander family.

The Boys were pretty wiped out after opening so many presents!

Then the following weekend, we celebrated my family Christmas late and made a trip to the Perot museum as a present from MiMi & Papa.  The kids enjoyed the exhibits and we made it five hours until the museum closed!

End of Year Wrap Up

So I realize it's the beginning of the year, but here's a quick update to wrap up the end of 2013 for us!

We had a fun Thanksgiving with my family.  Lots of food and cousins!

We made our annual trip to the Christmas tree farm to cut down our perfect tree.

Then Rylin helped decorate.  The first year in three that we didn't have to put a "fence" around it.  Next year doesn't look promising!

We perfected our back wrap.

We celebrated Gramps 60th birthday!

We made t-rex gingerbread cookies.

Miles got cuter.

Miles and Clifton hung out at the Taylor Christmas party.

Then they met their cousin Ellie.  It's not easy being the only girl.

Rylin liked his homemade Christmas gift from Daddy, and Miles got a quilt from Mommy.

We had a fun Christmas morning.

6 Months Old

Miles turned six months old in December, and since it was December, otherwise know as busiest month of our year, I'm just now blogging about it!  (I did at least take his picture on the day)  He is growing so fast and doing so many new things.  He now says "MaMa" and "DaDa", though I wouldn't exactly claim they were directed at either of us.  He's sitting up on his own pretty well, rolling all over the place, and this week started getting on all fours and rocking.  He claps his hands and has tried a few foods (sweet potatoes, bananas, avocados) but still not really interested in anything but Momma's milk.  He was 18 1/2 lbs (75%) and 28" long (95%) at his six month appointment.  He is definitely a Mama's boy but has buddied up to Daddy here lately.
